Messages, Good Buys, and Jude Law...

These two messages have been my guidance lately. The first one was from a friend since high school. She wrote it down on an index card and gave it to me when I was so down and needed some cheering up that people around me failed to give.

The second was a text message from an officemate. We both have been so fed up lately with negative vibrations that sometimes we want to scream aloud to air our grievances.

Yesterday, after a tip from an officemate, I went to Odyssey Music Store to splurge on some VCDs. Gosh, I bought five Julia Roberts' films for only P400, and that's really a great deal. I have been waiting for so long for this opportunity
that though yesterday was not really a great time since I don't have a budget for such a splurge, I found myself withdrawing at the nearest ATM. There goes my savings last payday!!! I got the following for P75 each: Mona Lisa Smile, America's Sweethearts, My Best Friend's Wedding, and Pretty Woman (Director's Cut). Meanwhile, Notting Hill was priced at P100. And FYI, all are original, with VRB seal in all of them.

This morning, before attending the christening of my sixth godchild, Aaron Keene, who by the way is such an adorable little angel, I watched Alfie. It was so hilarious, especially because seldom do we see Jude Law speaking to us viewers as if we're friends. He's so irresistibly "yummy" onscreen. It was in the film GATTACA (with estranged couple Ethan Hawke and Uma Thurman) that I first noticed his charm. I didn't like him that much in CLOSER because he had some shots when he looked so haggard, although COLD MOUNTAIN was an exception since he played the role of a soldier there. Hope to see more of him in the future.

Last night, I saw First Daughter starring Katie Holmes. It has a too common plot that I almost fell asleep while watching.
